Wire Replacement

Since ~20012, all of my horizontal wire antennas used 7 strand copper trolling wire ~0.028 inch diameter.

It's rated at 30# test and withstands our wind and rain well weather elements well. Ice loading would be a different story, but 45# test is also available and the diameter is only 0.035 inches.

However, using it with pulley systems was difficult because it had a strong memory for it's original coiled shape.

Over time I became aware of a product manufactured by Blood Run, named Super Copper Trolling wire. Again 7 strand copper trolling wire ~0.028 inch diameter but this product had a tin/nickel coating. What interested me most was that the "coil memory" was much less.

Actually, I recommend both products, but I now am running my "endurance test" on the Blood Run product, the AFW product had already shown it's endurance.
